The Carana Chronicles

Ark II

Ruler of the Frostmourne

Chapter II

Will of the Lich King

Carana stepped off of the ship in Theramore, two weeks after arriving. He quickly admired the city, before setting off to the Theramore tower. Theramore was a slightly large city, and it took him half an hour to find the tower. As he walked towards it, he heard some guards shouting something. It probably wasn't important. As he reached the top of the tower, he noticed Archmage Tervosh, Pained, and Lady Jaina Proudmoore all staring out of the window.
"Um, excuse me." Carana said.
Archmage Tervosh turned, and saw Carana, "If you could just wait until everyone else here is over the shock of seeing the Scourge right in front of the city, please save it for then."
"Wait, what!"

Chapter I
The Keep of Stormwind
It was the Stormwind guards who first saw the ragtag man coming into Stormwind Keep. They would have stopped him until he showed them a letter that he received telling him to come into the keep. Even still, they felt nervous, so they followed him all the way up. One guard told the man that everyone influental was in the war room right now on an emergency call. The man strode in, and King Varian Wrynn looked at him.
"I see you got my letter."
"You sent that letter?" Carana asked.
"Yes I did, but for just a second, lets forget about that. Heres the situation, the Scourge is on the move out of the Dustshallow Marshes as we speak. I need you to go to Theramore as soon as possible, and warn Lady Jaina Proudmoore of this threat. We saved you a boat at the harbor. Good luck."
"I'll get right on it." Said Carana as he walked away to the harbor.

Assault on the Ravenholdte

Chapter VIII

The Battle of Ravenholdte

Carana ran forward with the sword he took from the guard, along with Haladora, Sedanaru, and Crytyster towards Fahrad's guards. Haladoras bear came crashing through the wall, swinging its arm into two guards, both of whom crumpled to the ground. A flaming sphere came whizzing past Caranas head, as Crytyster blasted down one of the guards. Sedanaru sent a hammer of golden light down upon his foe, Haladora shot her quarry down with two arrows, and Carana began to intone mystically. Half a second later, Thoktaz appeared from the shadows and pummeled a guard with his purple fists. Carana parried a sword blow and send a bolt of shadow into his foe. He saw Fahrad run into another room of the facility, into which Carana followed.

As he ran forward into the room, Fahrad slammed his body into Carana, sending him spinning. Caranas vision blurred as he fell to the floor. He rolled backwards as Fahrad lunged forward with a sword, sending it into the floor right where Carana was mere seconds ago. Fahrad dropped the sword as Carana got up, and punched Carana sending him sprawling on the floor. Carana kicked Fahrad in the face, and Fahrad fell to the ground as well.

Carana got up just as Fahrad got up on one knee, and placed a curse on Fahrad. He screamed in pain as Caranas curse filled Fahrad with pain. He staggered up, and tackled Carana. They both fell across the room, hitting the wall. Fahrad punched Carana, his head slamming into the back wall. His head spinned and he struggled to retain consciousness. Carana muttered several more words, and the walls next to them shattered into splinters.
As they were both leaning on it, Carana and Fahrad both fell off the edge of the cliff the place was resting on. Carana saw a large peice of wood, suitable for being a good quarterstaff. He glided over to it, and grabbed it just as he hit the ground. Carana rolled, shrugging off the worst of the pain. He noticed Fahrad did the same, only he managed to find a dagger.
Fahrad threw it at Carana, who barely managed to twist the staff up to block it. The dagger fell to Carana's side. Carana rushed at Fahrad, who tripped him, breaking the quarterstaff in the process. He pulled out a second dagger which he held for a moment, just before he plunged it into Carana's heart.
Carana felt his heart go cold, then his entire body went numb, and for a mere second, there was peace in him. Then his body went on alert and he slowly tried to raise his hand to pull out the dagger, only there was no strength left in his body.
He was dimmly aware off Fahrad turning, an arrow running through Fahrad's foot as he tried to run. But he was too slow. A bolt of frost slammed into Fahrad, throwing him to the ground, and then Sedanaru came through, slashing his sword through Fahrad's broken body. A spirit rose from Fahrad as Carana saw, but then it fell back through the earth.
He barely saaw Sedanaru and Haladora standing over him, using divine magic and healing herbs to repair his wounds. His eyes closed.
Carana opened his eyes. He was lying on a bed somewhere. He got up, groaning from the pain, humbling for his robes. Finally he found what he was looking for, a Healthstone. He twisted it until it snapped, and he felt a surge of vitality go through his body. He walked down stairs with ease. He found himself in a busy taproom. Crytyster, Haladora, and Sedanaru were all sitting together at one table. Carana pulled up a chair, and sat down.
"What did I miss." Carana groaned.
"Nothing much. This came for you." Sedanaru said, holding out the letter. The letter had no return adress and no name on it. Carana ripped it open, and read it. It read: I am an influental buiseness, seeking to hire you for a special mission. If you accept this, I will meet you tomorrow at noon in Stormwind Keep.
"Gotta go." Carana sighed, and left the inn, running for the Gryphon Master.
The Carana Chronicles shall continue with the next arc,

Assult on the Ravenholdte

Chapter VII

"You dare disobey me." Fahrad growled. Three men in full black leather suits came out of the shadows, pulling swords out of oiled sheaths.

"So, you let the paladin leave, but not me!" Carana yelled at Fahrad. He grabbed the edge of his robe, where he had hidden a small dagger of fine make, better than his sword.

"The paladin has an excuse, he worships the light or whatever." Fahrad replied. The man pointed their swords at Carana.

"I still don't give a crap about your offer." Carana yelled. He stopped holding his robe. If he used the dagger, Fahrad would summon more bodyguards.

"Very well." Fahrad sighed. Carana quivered. Could I really take them on with only my hands as weapons. He wondered. "Kill him." Fahrad said.

All three swung their swords. All three missed. Carana jumped and twisted going between the blades, each missing by mere inches. Carana then flipped above the third sword, and landed away from the men.

They glanced at him in suprise, before one charged him alone. Carana jumped up, and knee jabbed him in the stomach. Smashing his elbow against the man's head, the man crumpled to the ground. Carana grabbed his sword. The second man advanced.

He swung his sword at Carana, and Carana expertly parried. Spinning around, Carana used the momentum to swing the sword harder. The man must have been better than the first though, because he blocked the sword, and tripped Carana. Carana fell onto the wood floor. The man swung his sword in a downward arc, but Carana parried. They struggled for half a minute, until Carana gained the upper hand. He kicked the man off of him, and got up. He swung his sword in an elaborate move, eventually disarming his opponent. He then stabbed him in the stomach.

Then the final man came at Carana. Unprepared, Carana was knocked over by a single kick. Carana backed up, and was hit in the head by the sword pommel. Carana crumpled to the ground. He struggled to get up, and when he did, the man punched him in the gut. Carana doubled over, and in the moment, he grabbed his dagger. He stabbed the man in the leg, but the blow seemed to barely affect him. The man grabbed Carana's throat, and brought back his sword.

It's over. Carana thought, but before the man could swing, two arrows entered his back. The man turned around, and Carana could see Sedanaru and Haladora advance on the man. Sedanaru swung, and in a single swift move, decapitated the man. Carana fell down. But before he could thank his savoir, he heard Fahrad scream out, "Guards!"

"Ugh." Carana groaned as he got up, and faced Fahrad, backed up by Sedanaru and Haladora, and Crytyster.

Assault on the Ravenholdte

Chapter VI

All of the adventurers sat down in the pavilion. It was twenty feet high, and had a radius of thirty feet. A large table dominated the center of the pavilion. At one end was Fahrad. He wore sturdy leather armor, with dual swords. Carana sat at the other head. At Fahrad's right was Duilas. To the left was Carthith. At Caran's right was Haladora. To his left was Sedanaru.

Fahrad continued dragging on with a long speech about how the criminal society called the Ravenholdte wanted them to join. Carana was barely listening. He was staring blankly into space, slightly drawn to a picture of the desert of Tanaris that was hanging on the wall. Drawn inexplicably to it....

Pain. Figures all around, slaughtering each other, on one end, undead and large bugs, on the other, humans, orcs, elves of all types, and goblins. A fireball whizzed past, hurtling towards a undead night elf wielding a bow. "We need help!" Yelled a voice. A figure leapt passed, it's face too bloody and grimy to make out. Could it be...

He was back. Carana breathed in deeply, and looked around. The speech was finished. Fahrad walked around the mahogany table, then faced them all.

"What is your choice?" Fahrad asked. He glared down at them all.

"Yes." Ziggy said.

"No." Crytyster said, and began to re-read a dusty tome that he had brought with him.

"Yes." Tyrannia answered, "Now can I get my gun?"
"Yes." Fahrad replied. Tyrannia left to go to get her gun.
"No." Sedanaru said.
"Yes, yes, I understand with the paladin." Fahrad yawned.
"No." Carana said, standing up.
"What?!"

Assult on the Ravenholdte

Chapter V

After traveling for three days and nights through the Hillsbread Foothills, the caravan of travelers found themselves in the Alterac Mountains. Joining them was Tyrannia Windspike, a tauren hunter; Ziggy Warmheart a gnome priest, and an undead mage named Crystyster. Carana avoided Crystyster like the plague. The came upon a small but powerful fortress in the mountains, secluded extremely well, found only by entering a special way. Carana took note of this. They entered the fortress, many on their guard, hands on their swords, or other weapons.

As they approached the end of a long hallway with bamboo wooden floors, and weapon racks on all the walls, Duilas turned around and held out a hand for them to stop.

"I am afraid I cannot let you into this room armed." He stated flatly. Carana pulled off his sword and hung it on a rack, with his wands and magical torch. Sedanaru placed his sword and shield on the floor. Haladora dropped her dual shortswords and her bow, and her bear stopped and sat on the floor. Crystyster dropped his staff, Ziggy dropped his hammer, and Tyrannia set down her gun, and her dagger. Crythith placed his crossbow, sword and shield on the ground.
Carana moved up to Duilas so fast none could see it, and said calmly, "Don't think I need the sword." He then backed off.
Duilas backed away for a second intimidated, but then walked forward and said, "May I present Master Rogue Fahrad, leader of the Ravenholdte. The doors swung open.

Chapter IV

The people of Southshore were used to adventurers. The city was in a zone of conflict, so close to the Horde. However, they had not had a warlock come to the city for a long time. Which was why when the human warrior Dualis came into the town looking for Carana, he was immediately pointed towards the local Sanitarium. Many of the local crazy men stared enviously at Duilas and his shining plate armor. his large sword and shield. Some also screamed unintelligible gibberish at him. Carana was different.
Carana was laid back against the wall of his cell, staring straight forward at Duilas. Duilas slowly took off his helm and glanced at the man across from him.
"Well." Carana's words were harsh, falling like swords on the unprepared.
"Hello, I am Duilas of Lakeshire. Would you be willing to come with me?" Duilas replied, equally harsh. He had seen people who could easily manipulate, it was obvious.
"Depends. What's in it for me?" Carana asked.
"Anywhere is better than here, right?" Duilas replied, and then held up the keys.
****
Slightly into the Hillsbread Foothills, three others converged to the duo, another human, a blood elf, and a night elf.
"Hello, this is Carana, these a Carthith, Sedanaru, and Haladora." Duilas said, pointing to the human, blood elf, and night elf respectively.
"How do you do?" Haladora asked.
"Good." Carana said, still girdling his blade to his belt, as they set off.

Chapter III
Hunter in the Darkness
In the tranquil forests of Ashenvale, the large spider fleed from the hunter. Even though it was as big as a house, it ran now as fast as it could, now fearful prey. Behind it the brush rustled, and a huge brown bear roared out of the bushes, it roared and swiped at the spider. The spider nimbly dodged the attack made against it and instead it spat venom into the bears large brown belly.
The bear roared in pain and rage, biting at the spider. This time the bear hit, gripping the spider in it's mouth and shook. But that was not the worst. Three arrows sped out towards the spiders, hitting in the a leg, a eye, and the third split all the way through the body.
A slim night elf woman came out of the trees and knelt by the spiders, thanking Elune for allowing her to defeat the mad beast. She then tried to scavenge any of the arrows, but she couldn't find any.
As she walked back to Astranaar with the bear, she slowly contemplated on the weird absence of the Burning Legion.

Chapter II
On the Run
The Magistrates in the wonderful Blood Elf city of Silvermoon where doing what they did best: erasing innocent peoples minds. Thirty feet away from where they did it, the paladin Sedanaru swore under his breath.
Why does it have to be this way? Have the all gone insane by use of the arcane magic that we once fed on? Sedanaru though to himself. Then he noticed that the Magistrates where heading over to him. To forever silence him as well.
"Ello chaps." Sedanaru said, hoping that they would thing he was drunk. They didn't.
The three magistrates turned to face each other, and from each of their hands, a dark, purplish orb came. Three feet from them, a portal came into existence.
"I don't think so!" Sedanaru growled as he unsheathed his shortsword and his shield, facing the Magistrates. He decapitated the first one quickly. The portal wavered once, twice, then faded from existence.
The other two Magistrates turned around and began barraging him with magic. Sedanaru swiftly threw up a shield made of the Holy Light. The magical strikes hit the shield, but never once did the Holy Light fail.
Sedanaru twisted the sword an slashed down. A second Magistrate fell. The remaining one ran. But Sedanaru had no chance to celebrate his victory. The guards were on there way. For the next three hours Sedanaru weaved his way through the city, dodging the guards, and in general, creating chaos. After that, he managed to escape the city of Silvermoon and emerged in the Northern Part of the Ghostsong Woods. As Sedanaru ducked and weaved through the trees, he was sure that he could never go back.

The Carana Chronicles
Arc I
Assault on the Ravenholdte
Chapter I
Fight of the Wanderer
The land in Hillsbrad Foothills were silent, especially around Durnholde Keep, the prized lair of the Syndicate. The Syndicate worked out their crimes without any intrusion. That was, until that one eventful day, three weeks after the Lich King's invasion began.
If the Watchguard's at the beginning of the keep had not enjoyed the last night with heavy drinking, they may have seen Carana the Wanderer approaching unaware of them. That is unaware until he came within thirty feet, at which point they saw him, and charged.
As they charged, a tremor in the land shifted. A being of pure shadow-a voidwalker-came up behind the Syndicate, one of whom turned to deal with the demon. The other two charged at Carana.
Carana un-sheathed a sword, a beautiful broadsword, and swung. The first strike he parried, then the second and third. As the two Syndicate attacked Carana, their companion was steadily losing ground. It was over like that. The voidwalker slashed his long fingers through the mans face. Carana decapitated one foe, then turned to face the second. His hands become a dark mist, and his foe was blasted with demonic energy.
"I hate the Syndicate, you know, Thoktaz?" Carana grimaced as he cleaned off his blade.
The voidwalker Thoktaz made what could only be called a nod.
"Well, this cannot be the way to Southshore, can it now." Carana sighed, and with that, he turned and walked down the road, attempting to find the town of Southshore, a final, desperate attempt to find his missing brother.
